From Playing Hockey to Climbing Hay

Michalski Family Update - March 2022

If you've been with us for awhile, you know that winter and hockey season are synonymous around our house.

Hockey has (sadly) come to an end for the season. Here are some of favorite highlight photos:

Play by play for the Michalski Family

The rest of our winter was filled with recovery from surgery, skiing, and getting ready for spring as we brought our cows back home from Nebraska. Here’s a quick update:

Erin: I underwent a complicated back surgery in January, but am just about 10 weeks post surgery now and feeling very healthy and blessed. I am back to light ranch work (is that a thing?) and walking as much as I can. The hockey mom is me is sad not to be at the rink on weekends anymore, but more excited to "get back at it" over at the ranch (no pun intended).

Matt: Super dad continues to shovel and plow snow around our house and backyard barn almost daily. This winter has brought 200+ inches to our home in Breckenridge this winter and March doesn't seem to want to let up. He's a saint! When he's not busy at our house, he's been helping my parents at the ranch as we prepared for the cattle to come home. He's a vital part of this ranch and we couldn't do many of the things we do without his strength and help.

The kids are now anxiously looking forward to their summer gymkhana series with their horses.

Addie: Addie is anxious for the snow to melt so she can start riding her beloved Liz into the mountains behind the house. She continues to feed all Gods creatures around our place daily - even the birds and wild rabbits. We plow though what seems like 50# of bird seed every time I turn around thanks to her valiant efforts to keep all the birds in Summit County happy.

David: My boy continues to be loud, the life of the party, and a hard working cowboy. He can lift his body weight in grain and salt blocks and he comes in clutch around the ranch more often than not.

Harper: She keeps us on our toes and makes us laugh everyday. Yesterday my mom picked then up from school, she got out go Gigi's car, turned around and said, "Hey Gigi, it was nice talking' to ya.". She's wise beyond her years which is equally heartwarming and terrifying at the same time.
