Frequently Asked Questions
Where and when do you ship?
We ship nationwide! Orders are sent out on the 1st and 3rd Monday or Tuesday of each month to ensure your beef arrives fresh and ready to enjoy. Check our Shipping Calendar for a complete list of shipping dates for 2024 and 2025.
Orders placed by Sunday evening will be shipped on the next scheduled Monday or Tuesday. If your order is placed on a shipping day (Monday or Tuesday), it will be sent out on the following scheduled shipping date.
How do you ship the beef?
All orders are shipped via UPS or FedEx using insulated packaging with ice packs or dry ice (depending on the season) to maintain the optimal temperature during transit. You'll receive a tracking number once your order ships, allowing you to monitor the delivery every step of the way.
When will my beef arrive?
Your order will typically arrive within 1 to 2 days of shipping, depending on your location. Shipping days are the 1st and 3rd Mondays and Tuesdays of each month.
What’s the difference between grass-fed and grain-finished beef?
Our cattle are pasture-raised and grain-finished, meaning they spend most of their lives grazing on pasture and are then finished on a high-quality grain diet. This combination results in beef with exceptional marbling and rich flavor, while still offering the nutritional benefits of pasture-raising. How should I store my beef?
Once your beef arrives, you should store it in the freezer if not used immediately. We recommend at least 20 cubic feet of freezer space if you are ordering a whole beef share.
Do you offer subscription options?
Yes! You can subscribe to our Ground Beef Stock-Up Boxes, available in 10, 22, and 40 lb sizes, for regular, convenient deliveries of premium ground beef to your door. We also offer steak box subscriptions and family cut subscriptions. You can pause or cancel your subscription at anytime.
Can I pick up my beef instead of shipping?
Absolutely! You can arrange to pick up your beef at our Fairplay Mercantile free of charge. We do not offer pick up at the ranch at this time.
What’s included in a whole beef order?
When you purchase a whole beef, you get to customize your cut list! Our whole beef typically yields 425–450 pounds of packaged meat. This is perfect for a family that consumes a lot of beef and wants complete control over their cuts. The beef comes in vacuum sealed packages for maximum freshness.
